A Law graduate from Gujarat National Law University, one of the premier law schools in the country, completed his schooling from Lucknow with commendable academic records. He planned to graduate with a profession in Engineering, but soon he realized it would only engineer money and an enviable bank balance. His real aim lied in contributing to social welfare thereby doing his bit for the nation and humanity. Thus, he prepared for the CLAT, all India law entrance exam, securing an all India rank of 414 in the first attempt as a student of class 12.
Neelotpalam has authored several research papers for International and national Journals on various topics ranging from Environmental Law, Investment Arbitration and Constitutional law. His research papers include:
- "India's Protected Areas: Are they really protected or at the mercy of Wildlife Boards" has been published in Stetson University Journal USA, ranked the first in trial advocacy and second in legal writing among top 100 Law Universities of the world.
- Authored a paper titled “Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) and India”, published in Journal of Legal Research and Analysis, Volume 2 Issue I, ISBN 2454-5120.
- Co-authored a paper titled “NGT’s Jurisdiction in Controversy”, published in Environmental Law Journal, NUALS, Kochi, Volume III, ISBN 978-93- 5035-866-5.
- Co-authored a paper titled “Criminalization of politics”, published in Journal of Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, ISSN 2348-7801.
He was also chosen as a chair of a panel for “Jurisdiction of National Green Tribunal”, in International Symposium Environmental Justice and Sustainable Development Goals: Balancing Economy and Environment for Inclusive and Equitable Growth held by Gujarat National Law University in collaboration with Winnipeg University Canada and Canadian Mennonite University.
Further, he also assisted an ICSSR Scholar for over a month in her research towards, “CISG and its implementation across the globe with lessons/aspirations for India.”
His academic inclinations lie in Environment Conservation and associated topics as he nurtures a special soft corner for biodiversity.
The Best among Peers:
Neelotpalam was multiple achievers within his school and City among peers. In his Schooling days he got:
- Distinction certificates from McMillian.
- Adjudged 1st in Taekwondo Light Weight Categoryheld under the Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association.
- Awarded 1st prize in Essay writing in an Inter-School competition held in City Montessori School, The largest School Chain in the world.
- Achieved 58th Rank all over Uttar Pradesh in Mathematics Olympiad.
- Secured rank1, in reasoning Olympiad among students of class 9 to12, when he was in 9th.
Sportsmanship
Neelotpalam is a sprinter and represented GNLU in Inter-University Competitions in athletics, Cricket and Football. He has shouldered the responsibility of athletics Skipper ship of the university's athletic team for 2 years.
